At Aarhus University we aim at making our conferences more sustainable by making green choices. Here are some of the ones, you can experience during the MatchPoints Seminar 2018:
Conference materials buffet
We have replaced the usual conference bag with "a buffet" of conference material. This minimizes the use, still making sure that everyone can take, what the need. We also suggest, that our guests recycle the material after the conference, if they do not wish to bring it home.
Tap water
In stead of plactic bottle we hand out a sustainable water bottle for our guests, that can be used over and over again. It is 100 % BPA free and dishwasher safe. This is possible because drinking water in Denmark is pure and tastes delicious.
Organic lunches and breaks
The lunches Thursday through Saturday are served by Studenterhusfonden, that in 2016 received a silver star for using 60-90% organic ingredients. “Studenterhusfonden” runs 12 canteens, a guesthouse, a bakery and a café in the area around the university, as well as catering. It is their vision to provide you high quality food with a local identity/nordic origin – cooked from scratch. The core of their concept is the origin of food and professional craftsmanship. The menu reflects the seasons – giving you the opportunity to eat varied food of the highest seasonal quality.
They only use organic fruit and vegetables – striving to increase the total use. They do that because they believe that responsibility goes beyond themselves. They believe that green energy is smart energy.
Please note the lunch on Friday will be meat free.

We recommend hotels and restaurants that have a sustainable profile. We care about food waste and we aim at minimizing the printed material for the conference.
